Baptism
If you are making enquiries about Baptism for your child, please read on.
Firstly you will be warmly invited to come to a Church service and will be most welcomed with your family. We have children’s activities each Sunday and a children’s corner. The services are held at 9.30am or 11.15am at St Peter’s and St. Paul’s Church.
At the end of the service that you attend, you will be handed a book about the Christian faith, which you are invited to dip into and read, and a form to be completed.
You will then be required to bring your completed form to the next Baptism session, where there will be an opportunity to ask questions and to hear about the Baptism service and about the Christian faith. During the Baptism session we will be booking a date for the Baptism. The sessions last from 8.00pm – 8.45pm and are usually on a Tuesday evening, held either in the Tower room at the back of St Peter and St Paul’s church or at the Rectory during the darker nights.
For children over 4½ years old, who would like to be baptised, they are invited to Sunday School at Church for six sessions – there are excellent children’s groups available.
Baptisms at St Peter and St Paul’s Church are held on Sundays - once a month at 3.00pm and every other month at the 11.15am service.
